From previous postings the reason the door lock was on the passenger side was primarily for safety. It kept you from standing in the street and risking be hit by passing traffic. It was felt you had a better chance of survival if you were hit by the errant bicyclist on the sidewalk as opposed to the inattentive driver on the street. As far as the cowl lights, location of front signal lights and colors that were available through the years, that's all available in other links on this forum.
