I put a newly rebuilt 400 in my 73 powerwagon and after it idled for an hour I took it out
on the road. After five minutes I started to lose oil pressure until it went to zero.
the motor got hot and died but started after fifteen minutes. I now have 55 lbs of pressure
when I start but it slowly decreases to zero. I suspect the rear camshaft bearing is
sick. any ideas out there? my buddy thinks it could have happened by cavitation. I didn't
exceed 60 mph or 3500 rpms.
