The GM bellhousing is of interest to those wishing to install a Cummins diesel to a GM light truck transmission. The "Bread Truck" bellhousing was used in I think 4cyl step van applications, but the 6 cyl uses the same bolt pattern. This bellhousing is reported to be rotated some away from vertical. This was to allow for starter clearance in the GM frame. Sticks in my mind we were told it was 6 or 15 degrees. We were/are interested in one of these bellhousings as my son wants to convert his crewcab chevy dually from a gas guzzleing 454 to a cummins 6BT. He has good power now, but under heavy loads & hills he gets under 5 mpg. Gearing changes are necessary as well. BOB
