Although I am not a Power Wagon owner (yet) I am a true Dodge Truck enthusiast and in fact own two already, an '86 and a '60. Anyway I just had to have a new oil pump installed on the '86 and my mechanic told me that there was enough junk in the bottom of the pan that he had to grind it out. I don't drive either truck much which aparently contributed to the problem. I first noticed the problem as greatly fluctuating oil pressure followed by a sudden drop and valve clatter. I suggest not messing with trying to clean it with additives since you don't always know what the situation inside may be. Mine was not only sludged but had bits of the old valve seals, which I had to replace two years ago. The truck runs great now!
