I got a NOS manifold w/ gasket. The gasket was about as thick as a piece of loose leaf paper. With a gasket this thin it is especially important to have good matting surfaces b/c it can't make up for much imperfections. My paper thin gasket blew out.
A gasket paper 7-9x's as thick as a sheet of loose leaf makes a fine gasket.
BTW: make extra gaskets - they get used at the other exhaust pipe connections and come in handy when chaging tailpipes.
