My 72 W200 PW has a lot of play in the big honking steering wheel. I can twist the wheel back and forth about 2 inches before it I feel any reaction from the wheels. It does have power steering.
I don't expect Viper reflexes, but do you think that this is a normal amount of play? What might be possible causes for this looseness - what should I look at.
