A couple of weeks ago, I posted a plea for help concerning my M37 puffing blue smoke at idle after it was hot. I got several good suggestions and started with the easy one first and got lucky!!! I removed the PCV valve and fording shut off valve under the carb and found that the fording valve was full of gunk and had been running almost 3/4 closed even without the gunk (I wondered why the previous owner had it wired open when Iremovedthe wire). After a good soaking and blowing out, I reinstalled and am happy to report, NO SMOKING.
Inow have a politically correct truck. I was ready to sell my second project truck to get the money for a rebuild. Thanks to everyone who offered suggestions.
Steve
