Well now, I just called the local Cummins dealer...

Off the top of his head he is also thinking that about $10,000 (or a bit less) sounds right.
But then, he is thinking that it will be around $5000 for the motor, and another
$2000-$4000 in adaptors and installation hardware. Or, in other words, he
thinks I a nut but is willing to push the pencil around and see that it would take
to bolt one into my truck while keeping the NP420.

(Charlie sent an email to me that a Gear Vendors overdrive with the stock transmission
and transfer case would make a good combination. You get a better split between gears,
and I don't have to redo the PTO setup...)

I'll let you all know what his quote is when he has had the weekend to think things over...
