This past June I pulled a WC-53 from Amarillo, Tx to Tampa, Fl. using a rented equipment trailer of the type you would see hauling a small backhoe or tractor. It had a 2" ball for a trailer hitch and I used my wife's Ford Expedition to haul it.
You might check into renting one of these trailers rated at 7,000 lbs. It worked very well for me. (Except in heavy traffic at ruch hour in Dallas. Scared the doo out of me having cars moving over in front of all of the sudden expecting I could stop on a dime. Lost a few pounds in sweat there!!)
