I have always been amazed at the difficulty people have in understanding eBay and the other internet auctions. Buying or selling on an internet auction is not all that different from the real world. Especially on large items that will not be shipped but you will pick up. I have bought three trucks off eBay. You pay when you pick it up, then if it has been misrepresented you renegotiate or back out. The "commitment" to purchase has been voided by the less than truthful or misinformed seller. The point mentioned above about credit cards and being a legit business is very good, as an added benifit you can have your credit card company enter the fray on your behalf if an item is not as represented. I and my two young sons have bought more than 100 items over the last couple of years with our first minor problem happening in the last two weeks. This was resolved in a couple of emails to both mine and the sellers satisfaction. I have sold over 200 items with never a bad check or a buyer backing out. Maybe in the tool section there are not the crooks and cheats that might be in the collectables or other areas. Buy, sell, and enjoy eBay while we still have it. The government is working very hard to get their hands on all the tax dollars that are being missed by these internet auctions. Someday they will all be gone.
