I talked to Paul on the phone about it. The conversion was done by a welder about 10-15 years ago who also did a body restoration. The motor is a natuarlly aspirated tractor engine, ?Faryman? I think. He says it goes nicely up to 55 mph; he's not sure if it has enough power to get up to 65-70 with an overdrive. He doesn't know the fuel mileage either, but I'd be surprised if it was worse than 17-18 mpg on the highway; maybe better, since rather than fighting air resistance like me at 65-70, he's just putting along at 55. Air resistance goes up as the 3rd (or is it 4th?) power of velocity. The winch is a MU2 on the custom bumper, drivem by a PTO on the SM420. He doesn't know what kind of adapter it has but obviously it has stood the test of time. If someone is looking for a "daily driver", with trip <10-15 miles, this is it!
