Just kind of thinking out loud here, but the chev probably had a removeable inspection cover, in order to pull the cross shaft out. So that you could shove something through the carrier and side gears. Do ordinary ffpw axles have this also?? or is mine a hybrid?? (no inspection plate, like FOMOCO 9" diff) I don't really know if it's the original axle for a b-1 or not (long story). The front has a removeable inspection plate. Which is not OE for b-1 I'm sure as it is painted od green (only thing on the truck that is this color) So many questions????
