Travco's roots started in 1960, with the name originating in 1965, While Brown City is the Home of RV's in Michigan, Fleetwood and other manufactuers began in Riverside, Southern Califormia, in the years immediately after WWII, with Fleetwood incorporating in 1950, it is the now the worlds largest manufactuer of RV's and manufactured housing. Travco has a special place in history because of it's relationship with Dodge, but many more Fleetwoods and Winnebagos were 440 Dodge powered until the demise of the Dodge motorhome chassis in the late 70's. RV's and campers where very plentiful in SoCal for a decade before Dodge became the first vehicle manufactuer to capitalize on the lifestyle. Dodge offered the industries first Camper Specials in both the pickup and cab/chassis version in 1964.
