You just struck a cord with Brown City. Brown City is known as the birthplace of the motor home. I know this town well, as I only live about maybe 9 miles from it. I spend quite a bit of time around there as well. It is a nice small Rural farming town in Southern Sanilac County. Nice town with nice folks........and lots of Amish as well. Anyhow, at one time in the Brown City area, there was Travco Motorcoach, and Champion Motor homes co. Xplorer Motorhomes is from the Brown City area also. Travco does not exist anymore and Champion has a Plant in Imlay city, a Town about 16 min south of Brown City. Champion now converts 1 ton Van Cutaways, mostly Ford into 'Short busses' Ambulances, Public transportation busses etc. They are not doing too well financially...Whose to say where they are going. I THINK Xplorer is still in Brown City. Dodge Chassis were a big favorite with the Travco, Xplorer, and Champion back in the old days.

I live in Marlette, 9 miles north of Brown City, and Marlette is known as the Mobile home capitol of the world. At one time several mobile home factorys were in this area. Active homes, the last one, closed down about 2 years ago.

Brown City has LOTS of Dodge Guys around. In the 'Thumb' area of Michigan here, Brown City has more Mopar guys than any other spot in this part of the state....
