I am no lawyer, but i seems to me that if it is stolen, its stolen no matter what state its in. If it is stolen and he is able to hoodwink the DMV into giving him a title still dosent change the fact that it is stolen. Put the shoe on the other foot and look at it from the true owners standpoint, he had a Power Wagon that got stolen and should be able to get it back. The guys who stole it are car thieves and should be prosecuted as such. As for Ephraim's money, he is probably out of luck. Even if the owner did sue them for all of the costs, what good is a judgement if they dont pay it. It dosent sound to me like Billy Bob and Jethro, or what ever his name was would be rolling in the dough. Or, as you said, if this is all a load of crap then I just wasted 5 minutes of my time and one of yours.
