Another thing I have observed about all stock is less failure on the trail. A number of years back 3 guys from northern cal did the Rubicon. There was an article in one of the off road Mags. 2 of the rigs were modified with power this and chevy that. 1 was completely stock.. The only rig to have NO mechanical failures of any kind was the bone stock rig. clothe covered wire can take much more chafing than plastic coated. And the clothe covered stuff does not get brittle as quickly as the plastic, at least in my own experience.
