Sorry Richard I just couldn't resist! Robert's got it right when he says Deadhorse, but I wouldn't recommend it. It's 400 miles north from Fairbanks and it's like the road to your property. One way in same way out. I've only driven as far north as Pump Station 3 close to the Sagwon River and that was about 135 miles south of Prudhoe Bay. In the summer it is very dusty and the truckers go like a bat out of hell. You'll soon know what it is to be "rocked". With our top speed being what it is we'd literally be a road hazard. There are a few other trips that we could make in the state. If you "lower 48 er's" really get serious about a trip north, let one of us know and we'll see what our collective minds might come up. It's a beautiful country to see and you all ought to do it one day. Warm regards to all.
