1950 DODGE POWER WAGON DOCUMENTED FOREST SERVICE RETIREE WITH COMPLETE TAILSHAFT, BELT PULLEY, GOVERNOR, AND McCORMICK DEERING BELT DRIVEN GRAIN GRINDER!

This is a wonderful vintage Dodge Flat Fender Power Wagon for sale. This PW was restored about 8 years ago and has been used but taken care of. The truck originally purchased by the U.S. Department of Agriculture Forest Service truck #150 and put to work in what is now the Hila Bend Wilderness area of New Mexico where it worked for over 25 years. Being from New Mexico this truck has seen virtually no rain and has the cleanest cab corners I have ever seen. The truck was the sold to a private party at government auction in the mid 70s. As far as I can tell from the documentation provided I am the forth owner of this truck.

As mentioned above the truck has a complete and fully functional tail shaft and belt pulley assembly. This assembly is complemented with a Mc Cormick Deering grain grinder and drive belt which can easily be set up by two people. Start your own grain grinding operation and put the local feed mill out of business!

This truck has been at the California Power Wagon Rally for several years where I have demonstrated the pulley and grain grinder. I have also installed a VPW reproduction governor and cab control to help with the grain grinding.

The truck is still the original 6 volt positive ground but I have eliminated all of the six volt starting problems by installing two 6 volt gel cell Optima batteries. This truck has plenty of starting power/capacity. The truck has a spotlight on the drivers side pillar. Delux seat with bellows. Both visors. Electric wiper motors. Model 50 heater. Chrysler build records included.
U.S.D.A. Forest Service documentation

As you can see from the photos the original plaques and decals from the Forest Service are still intact and in fantastic condition in the interior of the truck. The Forest Service safety decal shown on the dash is over 50 years old! The dash on this truck is original and not repainted when the rest of the truck was done.
Vehicle Condition

Overall the truck is in excellent condition. As I mentioned above I have used this truck but not abused it. This truck is not a trailer queen but an excellent restored example of an early pioneer. This PW will need a few oil seals replaced. I completely overhauled the transmission with new bearings and seals one year ago. The original mechanical oil pressure gauge works but the needle has fallen off so I added another auxiliary oil pressure gauge. There is a small dent/paint scratch ion the passenger rear bed stake pocket. There are one or two other paint blemishes on the truck, nothing great. Truck has a 231 flat head six.

Price is $27,500. Short term storage available for buyer at no additional charge.
