I can vouch for Ray's quality, having one of the first of the 8 bolt kits. You are right on your assumption that there need only 4 of the grade 8 bolts to tie the rotor to the hub as Ray has already explained.
I did not detect any animosity in your post, and feel sorry if anyone else did.
Ray is a straight up guy who called me two weeks after I received my kit to ask me how things were going.....unsolicited! I was struggling with bleeding the brakes at the time and after 5 minutes on the phone with Ray, his instructions lead to my daughter and I getting good brake pressure. This after my struggling for 3 hours repeatedly bleeding the brakes while my 6 year old daughter pumped the pedal.
I will miss Ray even though I have never met him; and wish him the best in his new adventures in the Orient!
