Hi MoparNorm - Who do you think are still
in business.. I am saying Edmunds no longer makes manifolds.. Are you saying they are ?

Or your talking Offenhauser ?

Offenhauser I know are as I said I see the intakes all the time. As far as dealing with racers.. your talking in general I am sure.

No racer would use an Affenhauser on a flathead unless they had no alternative. Their intakes have poor flow/performance as compared to basically anything. Edmund, Fenton, Pattersfield and a few more would all
test out better. As for not advertising because they have more business than they can handle. Not really. In terms of the flathead 6 product, they run off manifolds
as long as there is any kind of demand
as they figure they are the last one at it,
and they are right there. Their last casting
was 100 intakes around 3 years ago so we are led to believe.

I saw 4 different vendors with brand new ones
at Chrysler Carlisle this year, ranging from $179 to $289.. al for the exact same intake.

But basically $179, $199, $199 and I guy at $289 was what was offered for sale. The guy at $179 had 3 on hand.

On the flow bench we found if you raise the
carb up 2" you have 90% of the performance
of a Edmund dual intake, but the internal
design has some restrictions. So depends
what you want.. If you want a dual carb intake that looks cool, then hey whatever
will be good enough right.

If you want value for money, I would go with taking a stock one and have Asche make it into dual intake and true seperated dual exhaust while still keeping the heat riser as a first choice, then I would want a Edmunds, that a Pattersfield, then a Fenton
and Offy would be well down the list.

There is what I know.

Tim
