Hi Matt!
Ok here is your last post and my response.
"norm,i would rather be hit by a mack truck anyday than a bullet from a muslim or killed by a muslim operated plane. There is no way to compare deaths in traffic accidents to being killed in war.no way.As for bush's foresight heck he can't even give a speech from his heart,he has to write everything down and then constanly look to make sure he is in order. They state his i.q. is only 92,what's up with that. Also when all the planes were grounded why could the saudi's still fly..kinda weird hey..what about him in shock and awe when he was in florida during the attack. For 7 minutes after the 2nd plane hit..Please open me up on this, your a sharp man i know you will have my answers.please feel free to e-mail them to me,or post here in a civil way right here,,thanks matt "

Death is not pretty in any form, my point was that 1,100 deaths in defense of our country is not really equal to 50,000 deaths in traffic accidents. The 1,100 deaths were noble and for a far greater purpose than driving to McDonalds. But where is the equal outrage about the 50,000 trffic deaths? The deaths ARE NOT the issue for those against the war, the anti war crwod care little for our military. They are only using the deaths to raise opposition against the war to highlight their argument. It is the Vietnam Playbook. Those 3,000 killed on the morning of 9-11 were simply going about their own business with no thought of what was to come. The 1,100 troops died defending their nation from terrorism, and they are volunteers with full recognition of the price they may have to pay.
The remarks about President Bush lend nothing in the way of ligitimate debate. I don't like public speaking either, and nearly all speakers have notes that they look at. President Bush's IQ is over 126 and in fact higher than John Kerrys, but that has little to do with the argument and is a cute little dig from the Mike Moore fiction movie, which had no basis in reality, it was a campaign propaganda film and should be recognized as such. Moore in fact has a very low IQ, but that should be evident from the quality of his "research" and really has no bearing on how to improve our country. Moore made up that story about the Saudis, no planes flew in those days except for military and government flights. Some of the Bin Laden family was living in the country and did leave for their own protection, but they had no more to do with Ben Laden's activities than you or I. If they did, they would have a special room at Guantanamo right now.
President Bush did not have anymore information than you or I did on the morning of 9-11, as soon as he found out he waited 7 or 4 mins or whatever it was, until there was a proper break in the school program, he didn't want to scare the kids and there was nothing he could do at the moment anyway. The proof of his actions is what he did afterwards, he attacked and defeated the Talaban, in a country that had defeated the English, Alexander the Great and the powerful Soviet Army for 12 years.
At the time, the same critics who complain about Iraq, said it would be a quagmire, it wasn't. We won it in a few weeks. It's another little nothing point that the President's critics came up with that means nothing. By comparison, Kerry, Dashle and Nancy Pelosi were in a meeting, watching the TV as the 1st, then the second plane hit the buildings. They were still there, 45 minutes later, Kerry was quoted as saying "we couldn't think, we didin't know what to do" They sat there until the next plane hit the Pentagon and they could see the smoke rising only a few miles away. They were still sitting there stunned when Capitol Security personnel came and moved them to a safe location.
All that being said, none of those issues have anything to do with the job at hand, which is to win the war against terror, of which Iraq is an important part. Every extremist nut case in the Middle East has rallied there to fight us, just as we hoped they would. They cannot allow Iraq to become a free, sucessful nation, they know that if that happens, their cause is lost. Also it is much, much better to have the terrorist there in Iraq where thay can be killed, than here in the USA where they can kill us. If there was no war in Iraq, they would be here, plotting and planning.
Let's get back to Dodge, e-mail me if you want to bond some more...= )
