...like most who didn't get what this election was about, you have missed about every point. I specifically said I was not gloating. This is the time for all Americans to come together and get beyond the election. We can and we will win this war, because our very survival depends upon it. The Extremist Muslims do not care if you are a Republican or a Democrat, all they see is an American and they want us dead, ALL of us. Fear and retreat only lead to defeat, read and learn your history. We were minding our own business on 9-11 and we were attacked and we were attacked. If we are going to lose 3,000 Americans for minding our own business, we may as well go down fighting. If you child is overseas fighting we pray for his or her safety, but it is a price we pay for our freedom. Most of us here, including me, have served our duty. Hopefully one day, when the world knows that America will always defend itself, there will no longer be a need to sacrifice our best and bravest, but my take on human nature suggests that the day is far off in the future. Our President has the foresight to understand that a democratic, free Middle East will be less of a threat to America than a poor, backwards land of poverty.
If you think the cost of war is high, the cost of doing nothing is higher. On 9-11 our economy took a 400 billion dollar hit and we lost 3 million jobs and 3,000 lives. The cost of the war to end that threat will be less. Every life lost is a tragedy, but we lose 50,000 a year on our highways, you need some perspective here.
If we ALL bought American products, the jobs would stay here. How many foriegn products do you own? And what President has the power to control that? Mrs. Kerry has 67 factories overseas, there seems to be a double standard here.
The administration is working on testing and safeguards for foreign drugs that may lower costs, but keep in mind, you just complained about over seas jobs and now you want to buy foreign drugs??? Seems to me that is more outsourcing, not less and more American losing their jobs to foreign drug companies???
The price of fuel will come down when the Middle East is stable, AND when democrats that block oil drilling in America are out of office.
We need to unite ourselves, not divide. The first step is a dialog that is open, frank and sticks to the facts, not fears.
