Mark, I stuck a pair of 1 ton axles under a late 70's Ramcharger once. It started out with leaf springs but I ended up using trailing links and coil springs. It was a lot easier than off-setting the spring hangers and all the bracket fabbing that would have needed to be done. The bonus was tremendous axle travel. I did the back end the same way except with the links in front of the axle and it really got limber then. You can build it with adjustable caster if you use the spherical bearing type tie rod ends like you would find on your gannon box links.
