This is from another forum but I know you guys have LOTS of experiences with the 205.
NP205 in a '72 Chevy truck -- goes into 4LO easy enough, really hard to get it back out.
Doesn't seem to be gear bind, backing up, engine off, even unlocking the hubs doesn't help (hubs wouldn't unlock easy if it was gear bind.) Feels like a linkage problem, but everything's OK from underneath - pin isn't coming out, not hitting the floor, etc.
Any ideas why?
Is there a detent ball that could be jamming? Hopefully it can be removed/cleaned from the outside??
If you guys come up with something I'll head him this way tothe true and glorious path of Power Wagons.
