When I changed mine I pulled the hood, top nose piece and radiator. It was not that bad for me to do this. Previously someone had cut holes to be able to access the four bolts that hold the nose piece on. With that removed the radiator has just four bolts and comes out straight up. The tricky part is getting the shroud out of the way as it will catch on the fan blade. I just pushed the sides in to get the mounting tabs out of the channel it sits in and pushed it back over the fan. Whichever way you manage to get your water pump out, if the impeller has missing pieces they are now in your water distribution tube. The impeller on the one I changed had all of the vanes broken. I pulled the tube and found all the missing pieces. Also the gasket for mounting the housing to the block is not the same as the one for the 230. Vintage Power wagons sells the gasket for the 230. If you put that gasket on IT WILL LEAK. I ended up just making one and it works fine.
