Engine bogs at wide open throttle

I need some advice on where to start on this problem. 63 WM300. New fuel pump,plugs points, timing are OK. Truck idles smoothly but when you increase speed of engine slowly or fast and get near 70-90% full throttle-the engine slows down and acts fuel starved. It continues to run but will not go to full RPM's. As you back off from full throttle toward 70-90% the smoothness and power come back with a small amount of backfire through the carb when throttle is fully released. Most probable cause to least would be appreciated. I'll eliminate them one at a time.
