Welding! The case does not get hot enough to hurt the bearings unless you really puddle the weld which you don't want to do. You only want to tack the weld to the housing and then bridge the weld from the housing to the nut and nut to screw which can be done in a two step process. If you puddle, you will have to really grid to get things apart.
