Hi Norm,
I have been reading up on surge brakes and the backing does seem to be the weak spot. Some units claim to have that figured out. I am not sure I will end up with it yet. He is on his third ebay listing. The first 2 listings were stopped by "overseas agents" using the "buy it now" option. This time he left off the buy it now. We will see how it sugars off.
