Be sure you have the right head pipe. There were two different ones. The early trucks had the exhaust ported out of the manifold behind cylinder #6. Later it was moved forward about 4". If you have the early manifold and the later head pipe, every thing moves to the rear. If this is not the case, make sure the muffler is the correct length. Also the bending of the tail pipe must be exact for it to hook to the muffler outlet and install without interference. There are some other things to check if all of the above does not apply.
