Hi RD,
There were a plethora of short tailed 727's built primarily for the short wheelbase vans. I also have seen some mid 70's to mid 80's Power Wagons with a short shaft autos with a married transfer case adapter for W200 Power Wagons.
Some shaft only numbers are:
(They are officially called EXTENSIONS: Short); 2464 927 and 2538 536. They are for different 727 case but should be nearly identical except for mounting points.
