If the truck is "due for an oil change" that might prompt me to get an oil analysis done before plunking the money on the table. If the seller is so cheap or lackadaisical that he won't even change the oil before selling it, that might be an indicator of how well he maintained it. Makes you wonder what else is due or overdue? The number of miles on that engine are not really a problem, but what about the transmission and rear end, especially given that most of those miles were put on pulling a trailer? If you've got the time, look around a bit or if you're sold on this particular truck have a competent mechanic (one of your choosing, not his) perform a pre-purchase inspection. It would be money well spent. That's just my two pennies worth, Good luck!
