OK now that I have a newer 98 4x4 3/4 ton Gas 5.9 Dodge the check engine light came on going home with it! Took it to the dealer and they reset it and said I needed to change the plugs to the corect type. I put the right ones in and today the light came on again. Truck runs great, 14+ mpg, not over heating, every gauge on the dash is reading OK. How do you reset the light? Do I pull the bulb and ignor it? Man I hate computer engines that show problem lights and nothing is wrong that I can tell! This is not the way to start off with a Dodge I just bought!! My Chevy did not have the light come on for no real reason, what can I do except take it back to the dealer and start spending money for them to Code Test it? They said the code showed a miss happen? They also told me it was probley a loose gas cap till they checked that it was tight. I hate being took at a dealer saying change this and see what happens. The first test was free but I bet if I ask them again they will want money this time! Not under warrentee. Mark H.
