I don't recall any post about PW mods using
a V-8/auto tranny setup, that was my reason for asking about a short-tail 727 as I wanted the length to see if there would be enough space for a short drive shaft between it and the T-case or I could just use a U-joint coupling setup ?
I don't really care if I have 4wd as I just need to build it for hauling a trailer within and around the county. I'm in a money crunch right now but need a useful truck while the WM300 is down for a lengthy overhaul and fix-up. I just can't afford to go out and buy a used 1-ton right now and must make due with existing parts.
I thought that maybe I could just take my 64 WM300 parts trk that is mostly disassembled , put in my 72 plymouth 318w/904 auto tranny, have a shaft made and run the truck like a 2wd w/auto and just bypass using the T-case? Would a remote/divorced radiator w/elect. fan handle cooling the tranny fluid or does it really need all the air from the front passing through it to cool the fluid? Thanks
