If you use the right parts it doesn't have to be re-balanced. You have to use a 360 flywheel, torque converter and harmonic balancer. Because it is externally balanced those items are made to cause the motor to then be balanced, especially the flywheel and harmonic damper.

An internally balanced motor requires machine shop type balance if major changes are made to pistons, rods etc.

Those heads are for very late '70's to mid to late 80's. I'll look for a link here....

I think Paul details them. They are a very good flowing head, and especially when properly ported. Yes, there are better heads out there, but these are plentiful, fairly cheap, and unless you're going serious pro-stock or bracket racing or something they are more than adequate for good performance.

If I come up with more info I'll try to remember to post. I'm in the middle of a large truck project, swapping engines and complete bodies on two trucks, and fully stripping donor truck for spare parts, so kinda dizzy in the brain place...
