I got it. A day and a half late but my truck arrived in good condition. Turns out the driver's truck was damaged during the unloading of another vehicle and he had to scramble to find another way to get my truck to me. So now I give him a A for ingenuity but a low mark for communication.
Lesson: Make sure you get a 24-hour phone number from your broaker/hauler. With that in mind I would now consider using these outfits again.
