You may try like Matson intermodal. They would give you a 20' container that you would put the truck in, lash it down, and it will be transported across the country via truck and rail.

I haven't done this with a truck but if you have a couple of weeks, it may be very cost effective, and certainly secure being locked in a container. Good luck getting in and out of the truck though. Hope your skinny.
