The Law is the law and justice is Justice.
The Law rarely has aything to do with Justice, the law is about a process, per Jimmie D's post below.
In the recent past, the vast majority of politicians have had law degrees, it didn't make them any smarter, but it added incredible burdens to the public in the form of punitive regulations, fees rules etc.
Fortunately the trend is now back to "citizen" politicians. Lawyers per se are not bad, but lawyers in politics have not been any better than plumbers in politics.
