I always wondered what 5 speed they to make a 445 NP. A445 is probably 3-4 inches longer than a 435. I have one in a 70 D200 w/383 and it is no trouble to get 20 MPH out of 1st gear. Since it is as big as a 5 speed I believe that they left 1st gear out of it. A 433 is made out of a 540 and there is a spacer where 2nd gear belongs.Ideas?
