From what I have read in the Dodge service manuals in the past, The NP 433 is really a NP540 with only 4 speeds. They did remove a gear to make it a 4 speed. From what I have always seen, the NP435 is quite different from the NP540 series, and Np433.
I dont understand why they would take a 5 speed and make a 4 speed out of it? The only things I can guess would be to save some on cost, OR to make a extra HD 4 speed.
