The best one I put on was a 12v with a Ford type solenoid on it, the solenoid had a screw off cover over a push button so you could activate the starter while under the hood. It was probably marine so you could bump it while in the engine room, or maybe industrial...
The foot pedal ones have different arms that don't always interchange- some have a link pin, some have a boss for the push rod.
