By being off 180 degs means the Rotor is pointing just the oppisit of what it should be in the distributor. Like instead of 12:00 it is at 6:00 and will pop big time thru the carb! You need to find Top Dead Center on Number one Cylinder and set the dist in so the rotor is pointing to Number one Plug wire, then time the engine. Not sure but you may only be off one wire or your plug wires are installed out of order. What did you do to cause this? Did you pull the dist or change plug wires? Mark H.
