That is why the floor stamping is the basicly same from 1955-1960 in most Dodge trucks, and then continues until 1966 in Town Wagons and Town Panels.

If you ever saw the master cylinder location on a 54-58, you would understand the need for the plug. There is maybe 1" between the top of the cap, and the floor.
