Glad your okay. Back when I was in college I worked on farms to pay the bills. One day my boss asked me to move a tractor to another farm. I had come to work planning to be on a barn roof all day so I was in tennis shoes. We had a hydraulic tilt trailer. I loaded the tractor and went to lower it down. The lift mechanism bound up and didn't drop down. I went back to the tractor and pulled it all the way up on the front of the trailer. I was trying to figure out what the problem was when the trailer came crashing down on my foot! My toes got smashed in the tilt mechanism. My heal was keeping the hydraulic jack from actuating so I found myself stuck. I was finally able to cut myself out of my shoe to get free. I was trapped for nearly 30 minutes. It sucked! Anyway, long story longer, in my rare case, I would have been worse off in steel toed shoes. I had nearly 4 tons on my foot and the steel portion probably would have severed my toe. Not too mention, I would not have been able to cut my way out and could have been there for hours. I guess someone was looking out for me that day! I do wear steel toed shoes in the shop now.

Have a great day,
Dan
