If anyone lives in a bad weather area, I can relate.... Good thing is my family is fine. I had them leave town and I waited, as I boarded up my house...I had a scary feeling that this hurricane was going to be bad. It was real bad west of us. It initially was trcking to where I live in Panama City Beach, as a category 5 storm. That was scary. A Tornado hit 1 mile east of us,on Thomas Drive on Panama City Beach. Picture 24 of the first link below has a photo of the actual tornado. Other photos first link, show Pananam City area destruction. Tore up buildings in a 1 mile stretch of Thomas Drive. Many will be condemmed. Lots of destruction west of us in Destin, Ft Walton, Pensacola, Florida, and Orange Beach / Mobile, Alabama ares. Our county ( Bay County, Panama City, Florida ) was ok overall, except for 2 bad tornados, one very close to where I live which killed one elderly man unfortunately. I am a volunteer
firemen, with the Thomas Drive Volunteer Fire Department, ( Bay County Florida
District 1 ).and we did searches of the tornado area for 2 days, along with damage assesment. Then back to work, and finally started to get some of the plywood off my windows on Sunday. Worked 37.5 hours out of 48, friday annd saturday. My house is fine, all pw's and 44 mb are fine. Hurricanes really disrupt your life....Slide Show of photos here...
