Was over at the local Dodge dealer last night looking at the '64 leftover PW's in stock. There's only two, a Red Dodge color one and a Klondike yellow one (cancelled town order).
We've been dickering since just before Labor Day. I've settled on the Red one because it has the deluxe cab with roof mounted radio, seating for 3, spotlight, large mirrors and rear shocks.
The price was $3950.00 but the end of year discounts means I can buy it for $3,500.00.
They've agreed to take my '58 Chebby truck in trade, (boy --- are they gonna get a piece of junk -- but don't tell them)in evan trade for the optional winch installed, ($350.00). I can really use the winch around my ranch here.
Now comes the problem. They have this belt pulley and three point hitch set up with governor sitting back in the parts room that they took off a special ordered truck (then they changed thier mind and switched to a civvy model at the wifes insistance) and the dealer says it would be just the ticket for other jobs around the ranch. He says I can have it for $500.00 or I can buy the winch and he'll knock the trade-in price off the set up.
What should I do ?? Should I take the three point hitch set up or just stick with the winch ??? It's gonna be alot of money whichever way I go. What would you do ???
For '65 he has five WM-300's in various colors, three W300's with 9 foot boxes, four W100 Townies, and a W-500 Cab/chassis coming in.
