Eric your description makes good sense! I can feel the splines line up and slide in, but when it gets down to the studs they are off a little more than 1/8 inch. I have moved the hub all the way around and they are always misaligned the same way. The spindle looks like it is bent at the very base. I have not taken the back plate off to check the axle housing. I thought I would try to find out more before I removed any more bolts. I have to plant my winter wheat tomorrow, but if I get through in time, I am going to remove the backplate for a better inspection. If the spindle can be removed and it is bent, I thought I might be able to heat and bend it back, but that is probably a long shot. This old truck never leaves the ranch and probably never goes over 20 miles an hour, but it will go where the new trucks won't, so I will get it fixed. I'll post my findings tomorrow night and hopefully you will be around. I appreciate your help. Mike
