With the Poly 318 for example, most of the 61-66/67 production was red, but 1964 was blue in many of the trucks I have checked.

This is backed up with a service bulletin that claims that in 64 the standard motors were blue, and the -3 motors would have been red with blue valve covers. I have not yet seen that!
