I have not done this swap myself. However, the 1974-78 steering boxes are reverse rotation. The 1979 and up are not. It seems like the swap will work if you get a 1974-78 PS steering box too. Grab the PS pump, PS steering column and hoses off your friend's truck for re-use on yours.
