As for the Color Tour, it is Sept 24-26 near Grayling and it open to members of the Michigan military vehicle collector clubs only because of liability insurance rules. That being said, membership is only $10 for the year.
I think that a good antique off-road truck get-together is overdue for Michigan. I would like to see an event where anyone who owns an antique all-wheel-drive vehicle would feel welcome. Don't you think it would be cool to see all those Power Wagons, Jeeps, Internationals, Fords, Oshkosh's, military vehicles, etc. all together showing off and riding the trails?
If it is done on public ground there is no way to avoid the need for a 1 million dollar liability policy. The state figures that any group using public land with more than twenty people or any group who has any sort of competition during an event must have such a policy.
