I received a note from Linda Kenney, LinK, with info and a picture of another family member to add to the "Honoring Our Troops" page. Thanks for sharing this, and please extend out thanks to Elizabeth and Josh for their service to our country.

Also, if anyone else has family that you want to include on the page, please email the info to me.

Josh is the son of Terry Kenney of Bozrah, CT and Lorraine Breault of Plainfield, CT. He’s a member of the 6th Motor Transport Company of the US Marine Reserves, based in Providence, RI. He graduated from Ellis Technical High School in June 2001, and went to USMC boot camp at Parris Island, SC later that month. While he was going through the final grueling 4-day test called The Crucible, he and his fellow Marines were informed on 11 September 2001 of a terrible attack on our country.

During the winter of 2003 Josh’s Reserve unit was activated and deployed to Iraq. While there, Josh drove tractor-trailers loaded with supplies and equipment over all of Iraq. He also celebrated his 20th birthday April 19 while in service there. His entire unit came home safely in July of that year. Now they’ve been deployed again, leaving in July of 2004, in support of the First Marine Division in Iraq. Josh serves as a heavy recovery driver, and is attached to a bridge-building unit based in southern Iraq. His deployment is scheduled to last seven months, with his anticipated return early in 2005.

Mention should also be made about Josh’s true sweetheart, Corporal Elizabeth Thompson of Bridgewater, MA. She is the daughter of Anne Thompson, also of Bridgewater. Liz is a member of the Providence Marine Reserves as well, serving in the HQ battalion of the First Marines, west of Baghdad, and is a recent graduate of Worcester Polytech Institute with degrees in Electrical Engineering and Pre-Law. At the time of her deployment she was compelled to delay her acceptance into Law School. She expects to enter her law studies when she returns from her current tour of duty. Her twin brother, Adam, recently returned to civilian life after also serving in the US Marines.
